How can I update my edge? I went to edgeproducts.com and I couldn't get it to update to my edge programmer. What did I do wrong?

 

You have to download and install the Lightning software from Edge to do the updates through your computer using their software.

 

Once you have the software installed you plug in your edge and then launch the software. After that a box pops up. You will see a tab the says update manager. Click on it and then click on update and it will take it from there.

 

I got the Lightning Launcher box pops up and says Connect device to launch... so I plugged usb cord to my pc and nothing happens. I waited for about 3 minutes and nothing happens. What did I do wrong this time?

 

PLug it in first and then launch the software. If it doesn't work then I believe you are missing the drivers that need to be installed. I think this is a common first timer mistake. Anyone remeber where he gets the drivers from?

 

Are you using Vista? Seems like there may be problems with Vista and the Edge upate process.

If you're using XP, re-read the directions carefully to make sure you followed the install process.

After the Lightning install, when you plug the Edge in, the drivers need to be installed. The driver pop-up box gives you three or so choices, and you need to pick the correct one that the instructions designate. Seems like it was the "this time only" choice, can't remember for sure. The process then repeats once again after which the Lightning software should see the Edge and be able to update it and what not.

If no driver install box is popping up, a reboot of the computer may help.

 

Question? If I purchased this software to use on my laptop, if I do not currently have internet options for this computer, how do I update the software?
