Question Should I Keep Her?

Hi ya folks. I'm new here and have been a Ford fan for hmmmm since my dad's 56 Crown Vic. Anyway I own (since 73) a 70 E300 Van @253K ( I miss quoted on intro's)that's got a 302 prolly around 240hp buckeled up to a C4 tranny and need some help and or advice. The tranny is finally pooped out I think. No reverse left. I have forward gears that seem ok and can't retrieve the maint. log where the tranny was worked on in the early 80's. The unit is used for pulling trailers and in the winter here when I need weight. She's really good thru snow-n-ice. Gotta make up my mind if she's worth keeping. Looking for someone that's gone thru a similar experience and what you did.

Regards, EJ

if the body is still good, and it will do what you want the way you want, you still might be ahead to get something a little newer.

but then again, it is easy to work on, parts are relatively cheap, and it wont cost more to get it fixxed than its actually worth!

if it's not a money issue i would say get a newer one. if money is a problem, [aint it always!] spend a few hundred and have it fixxed.

If its a room issue store it. I was thinking of getting rid of my '84 but I know I couldn't afford to replace it. Get a self-store unit big enough and park it, that way when you need it, its there.
