I wouldn't go that far between oil changes. even if the filter can take 7500 miles the oil may not.

I have a habit. Now, I don't drive so much. My commute is pretty short and I HATE shopping!

I change my oil every month divisible by 4. That means April, August, and December. It's easy. I don't have to keep track of miles. The truck is well maintained.

Adjust according to your mileage habits.

5000 miles is what is recommended by Ford using synthetic blended Motorcraft oil. I change mine every 3000 miles.

Only use a Motorcraft filter. They have the best anti-drainback valve in the business and it will get oil pressure faster and oil up the the cams faster on start-up.

For all 08 vehicles, Ford is reccomending 7500 OCI's. Whats the differnece between 08 vehciles and previous? Someone correct me, but nothing...

So, using quality products, 7500 should be fine.

Again, someone correct me if im wrong.

i think a lot has to do with time. 20 years ago people drove 8-10,000 miles a years, changing at 3000 miles was every 4 months. now poeple drive 15-20,000 miles a year or more. i prefer the 5000 mil changes, but if i was putting 1000 miles a week on the truck i would consider going to 7-8000 mile intervals.---- The quality of the oil has a lot to do with it, the quality of the motor has a lot to do with it. The time frame between the oil changes has a lot to do with it. if you drive 20 miles a day in stop and go traffic or on the farm then you need more frequent changes. 75 mph on the road 2-3 hrs a day woud be a lot easier on teh motor... base your changes on the starts and stops, and dirt- humidity- fuel dilution the oil may see between changes.

15 minutes is barely enough time to warm up. in cooler climates, need to burn off any condensation that developes in motor. look inside you filll cap and see if you see any 'brown oil" from humidity. I would guess in Florida you are o.k. with 5000 mile intervals even tho you have 15 minute trips. how does the oil look when drained? i dont think i will go to extened intervals like 7-10,000 miles unless i am alwlays on the highway and racking up the miles every month. you could go every 4 month intervals like the other guy suggested, that sounds o.k. also
