From what I understand, unless you like and work in the antarctic, you'll never see all the conditions that are required for the AIH to work.

amiller had the details that are required for it to kick in, and I'll look for the thread to post the details for you.

I deleted the AIH on my truck, and it has seen it's share of sub zero temps without any issues. Also I don't idle my truck for any period of time, so if you do, might consider leaving the AIH in.

I had mine out for this particularly cold past winter. I did not notice any negative effects with the way the truck starts, runs or idles. The parameters for it turning on are so strict, it hardly ever comes on. IMO, it's only there for emissions purposes when the truck is idling, the motor's cold and it's cold outside, to prevent some excess unburned fuel in the exhaust.

Did this so long ago took a while to find the instructions I used. Here they are. I just went to the parts store and got a plug that fit, then tapped it using the same tap I used to tap my pyro hole.

Decent write-up on what the AIH parameters are too.

I've also read that it is the same as one of the 13mm Dodge oil pan drain plugs, but you would have to confirm that detail by taking your AIH with you to match threads.

It should be the very top item when you click on User CP. Is it not there?
