Typically, the chains on these last the life of the vehicle and does not need replacement. According to ford you have to jack the engine WAY up to remove the oil pan so you can remove the timing cover, but I'm 90% sure there's an easier way to do it, I just can't tell you for sure because I've never had to replace one of these.
