The power lock on the passenger side of my 91 EB stopped working today so when I got home from work I pulled the door panel off with the intention of removing the motor for a bench test. NOT! Looks like the dang bracket that holds the motor in place is riveted in. This can't be right ....can it?
ps. I was able to get a can of WD-40 in there and spray into the motor (the little rubber boot on top is shot) and got it working again but I think it is just a matter of time.
I have the samwe problem. Even if you get it out, the replacement at the dealer is 100 bucks! I'm going to try a junkyard, others have suggested aftermarket actuators.
Went to my local boneyard, no actuators. I'll let you know if I find a source. If I have to pay 100 bucks + it will be a while before I do this, it's not essential especially on the driver's side. I'd rather get my windows tinted.
