weekend trip 243 miles and 12.62 gals. 65 -70 mph all the way.
Filled at the same pump before the trip and on the way home.
It's not 2 tanks but it was nice just the same.

I don't see why not!? I'm surprised that I don't see more posts like this. I've gotten up to 21mpg in my truck when I take long road trips and set the cruise control at 70mph....sorry, but I can't stand to go any slower than that, even when towing. Even my last 3 trips were all at 18 mpg while doing 75mph on the Interstate. I just feel sorry for those whose trucks consistently get 10-12mpg...I can't figure out what's wrong there.

your econo street.
Guys don't let the econo fool you, it's like driving a big mustang.
plenty of power everywhere.
probably hit 195,000 this week.
Matt drove my truck, he can tell you how it looks and drives.

When my Gassers would get to 150,000 on the Ticker, the Mileage would go down. My 92 F250 that had a 302, 5 speed, and 2wd had 200,000 miles and mileage was 12 on the highway. My 02 Yukon, 100,000 miles was 15 MPG

nope the F250 is dead. This is the F350. I believe it has 3.73 gears also.
I run around 2k rpm @ 70 mph. Funny thing is i'm usually picky about air pressure, but I have not checked it once in 5 months.
Checked my mileage this weekend for combined driving city & highway over 3 weeks the meter said 15.3 actual mileage 15.23MPG So I guess my meter is very close to being accurate considering all the diesel I spilled on the ground topping off the tank. Also not unhappy with the MPG. F250 4X4 3.73 Auto

The odometer just went over 9000 miles this weekend (love the truck!). My OVERALL average fuel economy is 16.2 mpg at an average speed of 47 mph. I haven't towed much with the truck because I just can't seem to fit in a vacation (and towing the TT). By the average mph, you can see that I drive some in city traffic, but probably 2/3 on the highway.
I just wanted to say that I too have seen 19+ mpg at times ..............
It has ALWAYS been w/ a pretty good tail wind. 20+ mph wind blowing with you vs 20+ mph wind against you makes a very noticeable difference. My observation is to watch the wind direction and strength when you are deciding what mods gain mpg and what do not.
Also, it would be very helpful to see everyone's FULL specs on their trucks:
Year model, F250, 350, etc
CC vs SC
Tire size
Differential
Torqueshift vs manual
LB vs SB
2WD vs 4WD
mods (lifts, tuners, exhaust, etc)
Also, just the AC usage seems to drop fuel economy by .2 to .3 on my truck.
Then there is elevation change, outside temperature, fuel type, additives, total miles on the truck, type of oil, oh yeah and driving style, etc ......
So much to consider - sure takes a lot of data to really know for sure when a real improvement is obtained (unless it is a big jump up like some have seen w/ tuners and possibly injector changes).
Keep the fuel economy threads and info coming everyone - it is a great way to get new ideas and prioritize the next mod to install. Just be sure to give us all the details you can think of when you get some good numbers!
Only HWY driving keeping it at 65 mph and never over 2000 RPM. I can get 18 MPG on my 2003, 6.0 eng, 35's Nittos, 373, Auto, 4X4, before the tire chage I could get 19.5 MPG. Air pressure is a 55 PSI. When I had the superchips in it I lost about 2.5 to 3 MPG , maybe because I was on it hard. I have 104.000 miles on it now.
