opinions on water/methenol injection

i am looking into the water/meth injection mainly to lower my egts and a few extra ponies. what is the general opinion on these systems in our rigs? thanks

I also am looking into the O2/ alcohol injection. There seem to be several kits all about the same. The question is what are the real world plusses and minuses for using this way to more power and lower EGTs? CAN YOU GET A CLEANER BURN? CAN YOU REDUCE SOOT?

Will it add power - yes. Lower egt's - yes. Remember meth used as prescribed is ok. Meth used recklessly will kill your motor.

You can buy it as a premix from Snow or use washer fluid that I think is like 25 percent meth.

Just to add power - NO. If you tow and are looking to drop egt's - YES.

i pull large flatbeds w/ 15,000lb + tractors, and cant run on anything but stock. would this let me run on 40 tow at least???

Yes it will help a bunch for towing. Just watch boost levels so you don't fry a stock turbo. Also remember all the new found power with the heavy loads is tough on the trany. You need to keep an eye on that temp too.

Ok you answered most of my qustions. How about the cleaner burn and less soot? I have a 4" exhaust from turbo and a home brew cold air ram from the frount of the grill & k&N filter. I only ocasionally tow and then not to heavy. I do like to blow off a Beemer now and then. Mostly very light work loads.

I have been running water/meth for over 80k with no issues. Love it, use it about every day. It should not be looked at as a power adder, just a way to use the power you have more often. I could pull 10-13k loads on my 125 setting and never touch 1300 EGT over mounitan passes here in Oregon. With Injectors now, I can still run my power setting and not go over 1300 pulling. I never run more then 40% meth (get it straight from the fuel supplier, not WWF), and at 40% it shows a solid 40hp on the dyno every time.

The more meth the less cooling you get. Your not going to see less soot, or a "cleaner burn" but the inside of your motor is spotless when running water injection. If your going to get a system, get a 8 gal tank, install with electric shunt valves and you will love it.
