Next dumb question- DMV

So guys- what's the drill for someone moving in from out of state? What's involved in getting a driver's license, registration, etc? Is there any inspection? What experiences have you had as far as antique trucks? FL is pretty easy; CT is pretty tough.

No inspections... Most people go ahead and swap out the DL within 30-days of movin' in.

As for tags... I've seen people wait till the previous (moved from) state tag expire before they duke it out with the SC DMV and Property tax people to get a new one.

But then I also know a few that went ahead and handled the paperwork and taxes upon moving in (within 30days) only b/c they knew the new employer would have them busy 24/7 after that.

When I moved back here in 94 I changed to a SC drivers license right away but left the Ohio plates. I got stopped in Camden for speeding.....actually picked out of a line because of my plates......grrrrrr........and they tacked on that I hadn't changed the car over within 30 days of my new license!!
Keep your Fla license till you're ready to do it all....Specially if you are moving near any military post........they won't even look twice.
Good Luck
