Taking advantage of the waem weather to finish stuff around the place before snow flys. The 86 parts truck I bought is stripped down of what I needed and next week take the drive shaft off and tow out to the back 40. It has good drag links and decent fenders and doors and the cab is in good shape( no Rust on the rockers or cab corners.)
Need to clean up the shop a bit yet. Once the cold gets here then it is time to work in the house reno's.
I have been out looking for old trucks, and I have found 3. Two F47's and a F68. One of the F47`s is parked in an old shed at an abadened farm and is in good condition with everything still attached. My daughter and I were actually out looking for deer and I spyed 2 Massey Harris tractors at this farm so I stopped to take a look. When I drove past the shed I could see a vehicle in there so I took a look, and low and behold there it was. I will have to find the owner of the farm so I get more details. Funny thing is I have drove past the road to this farm a hundred times and never went down it.
Hey laynrubber, if you can find some bentonite to put around your basement I would recommend it. It works great for shedding water away from the foundation. All you do is dig down 6 inches below the normal grade and about 2 feet out. Lay a blanket of bentonite about a 1 inch thick and cover and that will help keep water away from the basement walls. Half a dozen 100lb bags will do a normal house, if you have a drilling supply company near by they will have some bentonite and that will work just fine.
When I built my basement I put styrofoam Insulation on the walls. Gave me more insulating for my basement walls. Since you have a trench open you could do the same. It also will help in keeping more water from your walls.
I had to dig up a basement wall when I was 16. The wall had cracks that leaked and had to tar it. It was a back breaker, but I was young then.
But since you have the walls exposed, think about the styrofoam. It would pay in the long run.
Just because you wax'd my a$$ with your rustang doesn't mean I should shift out of 2nd Good thing there wasn't any witnesses. especially the ones with the funny looking lights on top

You mean you had it in gear, I was just reving in neutral at about 1800/2000 RPM! Bet your frame has more rust than my whole Muscle-tang ever had (which was none). HA,HA for you. On a slightly more serious note ??? you may have to show your fine and highly skilled leadership qualities as interm chapter leader as I will be away quite abit for the next few weeks.
