alright, tomorrows the day. i have a feeling hes gonna try to tell me imma have to pay for replacing the muffler. even though its fake. havent talked to the owner yet, but i will if he tells me this. id rather have the owner find out out though (if he doesnt know this is going on) when i call flowmaster and notify them of this guy ripping people off

If you think he is going to jack you around on the replacement, sounds like it would be good to call Flowmaster before going in and get the 'lawsuit' story straight from them. Maybe even see if they could fax you a letter which will most likely say "All Flowmaster products are stamped with the official Flowmaster logo"
If the muffler guy gives you any BS, whip out the letter and explain that you would like the product you paid for and will not pay any extra.
went up there this morning, guy blew me off saying he was too busy. after thinking about i dont trust him to even replace it. called flowmaster and their talking with the shop. again i have to run up there tomorrow morning since im in class now and the rest of the evening
The whole time I was reading this, I felt that the guy was going to do just that.
OR say I didn't agree to any of that....
Things like that just pis* me off.
I do all my work at a local no name muffler shop, and have ran 3 trucks with true dual exhaust w/ mufflers and 22" x 3.5" chrome tips on each for $500 for all 3 totaled.
Flowmaster will also be quite forceful in their talks with him.

That's a good idea, and might be your best bet. All it takes is something from Flowmaster that says all of their mufflers are stamped, then your paper that says you paid for a Flowmaster, and your muffler that doesn't have said stamp. You'll have him in a corner. Surely he's not stupid enough to just keep blowing you off.
I imagine a lot of people are running around your city right now with fake Flowmasters.

actually im kinda glad he didnt fix it today. i had to take pictures of the fake muffler and scan a copy of my receipt to send it to flowmaster. they said they will take care of it. sending me a shirt right now. rather get a legit muffler soon though. the guy who helped me sounded pretty excited lol. but he was helpful.
After reading all this, I'm going to go under my truck and check to see if mine is stamped with Flowmaster on it or not. I got mine at Midas but it doesn't look like what was described for their brand muffler. I know mine doesn't look like the image provided in the previous page since that's single in single out, I have a single in dual out.
Yours will be the same way Munky, I have a SI/DO on one of the other trucks and it has Flowmaster and the serial number written on it.
That's cool that Flowmaster, who didn't screw up, is sending you a shirt because someone else was stupid. Good move on their part. Hope to hear soon what they do to the guy.

look it up on ebay for a picture. but you should jsut look for the word "flowmaster" on the side of the muffler. if thats there plus some other numbers(serial numbers i think) then it should be legit. from what the flowmaster guy said. and EVERY real flowmaster has that
There was nothing on the bottom of the muffler or the sides, I'm wondering if it could be facing upwards.
Look at the front of the muffler, it should say INLET on the front. If the word is right side up, the Flowmaster and serial number should be on the bottom of the muffler. If the word INLET is upside down, it should be on top. Dunno why any muffler shop would install it upside down though, the name and serial number are there to prove it's a Flowmaster, and it'd look stupid to have INLET upside down.
