My AC blows cold at low fan speed. When the fan speed is increased the door/doors in the ducts flop and it goes to 100% heat. Any sugestion as to what or where to start? I assume I have vacume but I am guesing that I have a bad actuator. I just have no clue where thay are or if this is it.
Sounds like a broken blend door. I've heard they aren't real easy to get to. It's in the duct work.
Click on search in this forum and type in blend door. There are several threads on this.
the vacuum controls where the air comes out, either defrost, dash or floor. the "temperature" is controlled by the blend door that is electric operated. it mixes the cold air from the AC with the warm air from outside and "mixes" to get the temp you want. it does not change or should not change position when you move the fan speed. if the door is broken, then the wind speed might be moving the door around??? its possible. the door is inside the dash under the radio i believe. i have not changed it out. i believe it is a big job to get to access. make sure the "temp ****" works o.k., but if it is cold at low speed, it apparenty works sometimes.
