hey well.... i have a 6.0 turbo diesel, f350 dually and we usually take it out on long drives evry once in a while wen we go to the desert and mexico to ride quads we pull a toyhauler to go to the desert, and after a couple of hours of driving. in the middle of us getting to where we want to go..... it begins too make a sound... out of the blue it kinda goes away if we give it more gas. not sure what it is?? kinda sounds like a miss fire, or something clogged?? we think its the glow plugs?? we changed the fuel filter, i think we changed the oil filter??? and we put in a K&N air filter and the sound continues!! it gets annoying and we are worried itll die and get us stranded..... help please??
oh and we noticed it takes a while for the trubo too kick in to gear.... would putting a second turbo be a solution???
take it to the dealer. is the check engine light illuminated? it could be a potential serious problem. ur wasting ur time even thinking about putting on a 2nd turbo.
yea thats pretty much what the truck does but a little more repeatedly... it sounds alot worse than it does on the video..... soo what is the problem with??? what soluttions are there??
Mine did this once pulling an empty dump trailer. It did it for about 9 miles and quit doing it and ran fine. I took it immediatly to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong. Been fine since.
My 2004 6.0 did the exact same thing last month on my trip to Iowa!! It did it for about 10-20 miles and then it stopped?? Let us all know what the dealer says, I was very concerned since I was on my trip towing my toy hauler when it occurred.....Mine only made that noise when I let off the throttle. I would step on it and then let off and it would make that same noise??? Let us know what the deal is please!
