Just changed out my 5 screw automatics for Warn premium manuals on my 88 Bronco. Got them on with no problems. The instructions call for raising the wheel and rotating the tire to determine if the hubs are engaging. I noticed that on the drivers side tire the driveshaft between the transfer case and front differential rotated, but on the passenger side the shaft between the tire and the front differential turned, but not the driveshaft between the differential and the transfer case. Is something wrong in the differential or is this possibly the anti-slip feature at work? May be displaying my ignorance here, but thanks for the help.
You should only be turning the driveshaft when both hubs are locked in, otherwise in an open diff (and my tru-trac limited slip), the axle shaft on the free side will turn in the opposite direction rather than turn the propshaft (path of least resistance). The only other time this might happen is if one side is free, but the axle u-joint on the free side is tight enough to overcome the drag of the 'shaft, 'shaft joints and 'case.

What is the difference between the "3 screw" hub on my 1996 EB and my friends "5 screw" hub on his 1995 XLT? I'm not having any problems with mine, it's just a question floating around in my blue oval head.
