Help please,
I have looked and looked and looked in my truck for the trailer harness that is under the dash of my truck I simply just cant find it. on my sticker for my truck is says trailer towing package after a while of looking I doubted i had it so I had to check. I found the 4 prog behind my back bumper. can anyone help me?
Yes, 7-pin is round & has a spring-loaded flap/door. A TBC (Trailer Brake Controller) has to have the 7-pin, it does not work with the 4-pin. Tow Pkg has Class V 2" receiver under the back bumper with the 7 & 4 pin connections.
Aftermarket (non- Ford 'TowCommand') TBC connection point is around your right knee under dash. You probably have a wiring harness for it in your glove box. If you are wanting a good aftermarket TBC, get the Tekonsha Prodigy (approx $120). The factory 'TowCommand' TBC (which is made by Tekonsha also) is the best but very expensive to add ($500+).
