i am looking at a 95 f250 4x4 single cab, with a powerstroke deisel? what is a lot a miles for these powerstrokes, i think this one has 230 000 kms. what should one cost that year? do they have turbos?
All Powerstrokes had turbos, but not all diesels were Powerstrokes.
230k is not a lot of miles for the engine, but the rest of the truck should be examined closely. A Powerstroke can be trashed at 100k if it isn't maintained.
Price will vary greatly depending on options, location and condition but $3000-$6000 should be fair.
Yep, the motor should be good to 500k. Depending on how it was used, the rest of the truck could be shot. Being an early diesel, it was probably a tow vehicle, so I would expect some tranny work in the near future and plan on pinion seals too. With that kind of mileage records will be important. I would also expect it to need shocks, hoses, vacume lines, tranny flush, steering linkage and the rest of the maintance stuff.
Think you guys misses he said kms not miles. That's only about 143000 miles. While it still definitely needs to be lookd over, the engine should be fine if maintained.
