Hi, I just bought a 1996 Explorer with a 6 Disk CD Player in it. The cd magazine is in the center console, and it will NOT eject, and I don't want to just start prying and pulling on it.
When I push the EJECT button, I can hear the eject motor running, but the magazine wont come out. I am new to this site, and forum, and was hoping that one of you Ford Gurus' out there might be able to help me, and tell me how to get this 6 disk cd magazine out of the player.
The previous owner said that the cd player works, but the last time she tried to eject the magazine (it is empty), it would not eject, and she did'nt try to force it out, or take it to a service person.
So, if anyone out there can help me - HELP ME... Thanks, bustedglass
You need to pull the changer out and remove the changer panels. One or more of the disc holder trays is not fully seated in storage position, holding the magazine in. This has happened to me twice. Use whatever you can to push all 6 disc holders into storage position and plug it in to the harness. Then you should be able to eject the magazine.
