D60 spindles on D44hd???

D60 spindles on D44hd???
Knowing that the D44HD parts are becoming harder and harder to find, does anyone know if a late 70's (like 78-79 F350) D60 spindle and caliper bracket will fit onto a 77 1/2 - 79 D44? I'm doing the 5 to 8 lug conversion on my bog truck, and since I already have the upgraded alloy shafts and joints, I wanted to keep the D44 for the weight savings up front. Out back, I'll be running a 10.25 and since I needed a little more weight in the back, this is the best way to get it and beef up the rear at the same time.

Are they bigger around the mounting flange? different bolt pattern? what won't fit?
Sorry to be a pain, but I'm not afraid of fabricating stuff or turning parts on a mill/lathe it it needs to be fitted better, so a little more specific would be nice....

If you can find a 8 bolt 44 all the stuff will fit from it. There wouldn't be any practical way to adapt the caliper bracket and no way to adapt the spindle.
