Boy do I miss the music of Conway Twitty, Hank Jr., early George Strait, George Jones, all four of the Highwaymen, early Alabama, Merle, Charlie Rich, Johnny Paycheck, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Statlers and on and on.
Sure, there are some great songs out right now but in my opinion, no truly consistently great singers.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, pop country sucks. the only real good one to come out of the last 20 years is Hank Williams III, some of the best country stuff I've ever heard. better then his daddy and sure gives his grand dad a run for the money.
Waylon, Willie, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Hank Williams Jr, Alabama, Shenandoah, (remember them) George Strait, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakum, Sammy Kershaw, Keith Whitley, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Statler Brothers, John Anderson, Reba, The list would go on for a long time.
not into all that "POP COUNTRY" like rascal flatts, kenny chesney....If you aint heard it yet, look into Texas country, like Kevin Fowler, Pat Green, Roger Creager, Randy Rogers Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed(the new CCR), Cory Morrow etc. Most country on like CMT and stuff is too emotional for me but then again thats waht country is. Most of the Modern country stars are all preppy and stuff they just SING country they arent country.
I'll listen to and enjoy some of the newer modern country, but I love the old stuff. Hank JR., Don Williams, Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, and even some Chris LeDoux.
I love country music but here in the big city they dont have a station. I had XM for a while but i had to leave it in the one truck i dont drive as much as id like to so i shut it off...I wish i could get to hear some good country music to me its the best music
My wife and i got married to Keeper of the Stars and while thats kinda old we still pull out the cd and dance in our livingroom to that
