I would take a manual in a heart beat for a mud truck, just for the pull starting factor alone. I have seen so many automatic trucks sitting on the side of the trail waiting for stuff to dry and whatever else when you can just throw a strap on pull it 10 feet and dump the clutch and your off and running again. Thats just my .02 cents though. ,

Well, since you put it that way, I agree with crewcab. Keep the 300-6 and the 5-speed. It will fit the bill just fine for what you want to do

For serious mud bogging, you can't beat a built C6 tranny behind a 460+ ci engine... But thats not what you are doing. The 300 is a great engine for casual trail riding, and your current 5 speed will more than suffice...
