Antenna problem! need help!
My antenna on my 07 Harley Davidson F150 keeps hitting my garage door, and hitting signs in the garage at work. Where can I get a SHORTER replacement antenna? Any suggestions? Are they easy to replace? Someone told me that I could fix it myself by taking it off, cutting it and replacing the ball on the top. I think I would rather just buy a shorter antenna. Where can I find one, how much, easy to replace, etc. Any info would help. Anyone have the same problem? You would figure that an 07 would have a motorized antenna.

You might find a shorter antenna at auto parts store. I have seen universal replacements at advanced auto. I wouldn't change it though I would rather hit the antenna than running the top of the truck into the parking garage. Because when they say 6'8'" the bumper on the entrance isn't always set at 6'8". Those bumpers will mess your roof up.

I had the same problem. I just:
- Took the mast off
- Placed it in a vice,
- Knocked the ball off the top. It does come off, just takes a bit of effort. I used some pliers and a hammer. Make sure you put some tape on it to keep it from flying very far.
- Cut a few inches off the mast. Make sure that you don't cut it so that it's shorter than the top of the car.
- Put the ball back on. Give it a few sharp taps with hammer.
- Put the mast back on the car.
