I have an 04 F250 FX4, 6.0 diesel, with 110,000miles, crew cab, no mods yet. At 42-48 mph it just feels like the truck is bouncing. Doesn't matter if you are on the gas or off. It's very rare that you don't feel this, although it is worse sometimes more than other times. I had the tires rotated and balanced helped some but only lasted for a few days. I have never had the truck in the off road.
may be the roads that you are on, I have a 97 CC that does the same thing, but only on one stretch or road, it has to do with the way the laid the asphalt. Do a search on velvet ride and Hopper Stopper on google.
Thanks, I thought that might be it but it doesn't matter where I am. I just wondered if it was a common problem. It just does it at that one speed. I'll give google a try.

You said that you had them balanced and that it helped for awhile. Maybe a bad rim or something? I had a different truck that used to do that and it ended up being the tires, even after rebalancing it started doing it again. I dont know if you want to spend that much money, but might be something to look into. Maybe try the spare tire in the place of each other tire for a day to see if it helps?... Just my $.02
I have the exact same problem. Right around 38-45 mph no matter what road, pedal postition, rpm. It feels like the truck is bouncing around. Iv tried running two completly different sets of wheels and tires, both road forced balanced with true wheels. I had it at ford for a week under the ext warrenty. They tried everything from pulling the front and rear drive lines, rear axles. They even had the factory rep working with them. At the end of driving a piece of crap loaner for a week, they told me that it was a charecteristic (sp?) of the truck. (01 ext cab, LB). Sorry to rant. If you do happen to find the cause let me know.
I have a new 2007 with 800 miles on it, supercab long bed 11400 gvw and camper package. The dealer and I are trying to find the answer and I went to two different tire places and had the tires rebalanced but no working. I have the 18" continental tires and the first tire place said that they thought the tires were out of round. So now the plan is to try tires from another truck to determine if it is the truck or tires. Mine is bouncing too at 35 to 45 mph. Hope we find out the answer and get it fixed.
i checked the ujoints in the past and everything was ok. I haven't checked them in a while I'll try to check them this weekend. I have also been told that it is just the type of truck, long wheel base. It also doesn't matter if I have the toy hauler hooked up or not, or if it's loaded.
