Question EBV=High Idle???

I cleaned out my ebv tube and sensor today and i think my normal operating temp idle has dropped a few hundred rpms??? I will hopefully know a little more in the morning when i got to start it but anyone ever heard of this???

You mean your idle in park/neutral is a few hundred rpms lower than it used to be?? What does it idle at when you're in park or neutral? Should be around 680 or so.

Also the exhaust backpressure sensor and high idle are for the most part separate. The EBP system does not have to be functioning for high idle to kick on.

I guess maybe ive never had high idle, how high is high idle, is it temp controlled, truck has always lived in florida. I cant be positive but i think my truck in park used to idle @ about 825-875 rpms now after cleaning the tube and a little brake cleaner in under the sensor it seems to idle right where you said it should???

High idle is anywhere up to 1100 rpms with the built-in cold ambient package. It activates based on intake air temps and engine oil temps - the colder it is, the higher the idle. Not sure why your idle used to be higher - did it drop down lower when you tapped the brake? Might have been on high idle and you just didn't realize it. Anyway, if it's at about 680 now, that's spot on.
