Use Photobucket.com (they seem to be a site that FTE has no conflict with and the slideshow feature is nice) to host your pics. . . Please!!! The suspense is killing me!

The hosting company is not the problem. It’s the administration of this site. When I uploaded my pics admin got mad at me and told me not to and when I posted a link to the pics on my site a mod emailed me asking me not to post a link.
Edited... Was going to offer help, but apparently I can't. What the heck is wrong with linking to pictures? I can see posting too many pictures as a problem for people with slow connections... but linking to pictures? What's the big deal? The administration here is funky sometimes.<hints id="hah_hints"></hints>

its not the administration its user error. you can link to pics but you have to host them elsewhere until you get so many posts. then when you can add attachments they have to be under 300k. dont blame the administration

Apparently you missed when he said this:
"when I posted a link to the pics on my site a mod emailed me asking me not to post a link"<hints id="hah_hints"></hints>
try linking just the image.... use the [img] tag around the link. there are reasons that you cant post those links
Matt
That has to be the dumbest thing I ever heard.. I'm going to call Todd and Jay in the morning and find out about that.. I don't recall reading in the User Guide that posting links wasn't authorized.. I'd like to know where you found this info if you don't mind fordboy.. This is a first I have ever heard about putting links on threads..
its not about links in signatures. its all listed in the user rules. im curious if the site he linked to sells something. i had nothing to do with this whole deal so im not sure myself
I thought putting the [img] tags around links make the images show up in the thread, which was frowned upon because images take longer to load...
I also didn't see anything in the guidelines about linking to off-site pictures (only regarding copyright issues but these are his pictures of his truck on his site).
Using the image tag is specificaly what I got in trouble for. I had all the links listed as images and admin changed all the images to links. He said when I had those many pics to use links. Well no one is going to open 100 links so I posted the URL to my site where a forum topic exists showing my install. A mod said that was a business link and it needed to be removed and I would be banned if I did it again. I do not sell anything what so ever on my site. It’s a forum just like this one. Nothing else. I emailed the mod back and asked him why but he did not reply *roll eyes*.
So no it’s not user error, and yes I am blaming the administration.
I posted these pics on 15 forums. This is the only forum I have had a problem with. In fact the admins on half the forums made a positive comment in the post.

Oh... well posting a link to your personal forum, where you may get some run-off traffic is a HUGE threat to this site and is most definitely ban-worthy. I mean, come on, think of all the money ford-trucks will loose in advertising revenue and the chaos that will ensue from users viewing your forum!
Yeah... that was sarcasm. I hope I don't get banned for that... I love this site and all, but geez some stuff around here is annoying.
SPL Tech: If the image tags were replaced with link tags, why not just leave those up so we could click through to see each image?
