Can someone give me a link to the air filter mod please. I tried the search, but to no luck . F-250 1994 7.3 Also ideas on the ccv mod. I had a look at th turbo a while back and was appaled at the design these guys came up with. I have a few 0lder diesels and have never seen the case vented in to the turbo.!!!! {73 Mack dump truck}ecc.
But the EPA says you can't vent that oil vapor to the air, it is bad for the enviroment.
Which air filter mod are you looking for?
everything is supposivly bad for the environment these days. I say vent it how you want, just don't get caught. Besides the epa is big bunch of frauds and sissys that wants to regulate what you can do, but they can fly in their jets all day long and polute more than us in 1 hr of flying......
If you click on my user name, view gallery, my ram air mod will show up. It's for a N/A truck set up and deflects air from behind the grill up behind the headlight to a much bigger than stock inlet. I have measured three times the air pressure in the back of the duct over the stock system at 50 mph.
I guess I should have put a smilley or something by that statement.
The reason the CDR vents to the air intake is the EPA.
That is not the best place for it to vent to, but it is convenient.
And it does eliminate the cloud of oil vapor that is present at the road draft tube end.
There has to be a better way, I just have not come up with it yet.
The filter mod usually means cutting the soup bowl out of the air cleaner.
The soup bowl is only used on NA motor air filters, so if you have a turbo that will not work.
The other mod is to fabricate ram air into the filter box, that will work on any of the motors.
There are a couple pictures in my gallery of my ram air setup to my turbo.

I pulled off my x-over pipe welded a nipple on it that pionts slightly tward the ground to the front of the truck.I instaled an elbow pionted downward from the valve cover ran a peace of heater hose to the nipple and it runs right in to the exaust. post turbo.nothing but good clean air enters the turbo.i picked up 1lb or so of boost.
Thanks all .I like the idea of the blowby going into the exaust ,that should burn it up. The air cleaner mod I must have been thinking about was the 6637 on the PS. Been wanting to do that to my newer truck. It shore seems like 94 could use a lot more filter. I go through a lot of filters on these . I have a 673 cu. mack that has a huge filter on it that can't remember the last time I changed them, I do check the minder alot.
oops,I hit the wrong button . What did you cap the air housing off with, might save me some runnin around time . I'm limited here in Ak. for good parts. Thanks Al in Wasilla
