Exclamation 390 Motor mount issues

I have a 1968 F250 pickup, and just got a 390 FE motor built for it. the problem I am having is I am not able to get the motor mounted up. the motor mounts are not lining up. We have the stock motor mounts and with the passenger side mount dropped in, the driver side is about a 1/2 inch off and will not line up.

We put a Moroso oil pan and it is more wide than deep vs. the stock pan. Because of this if we try and drop the driver side mount in first, the passenger side of the oil pan sits on the crossmember. It just seems like nothing is lining up.

The motor we pulled out was the 360.

Is there any mounts that we can use or what modificiation to the mounts or mounting brackets that we need to do to get this motor to line up?

Thanks for any suggestions. Pictures of what we have to follow.

Don

There are RH & LH mounts and engine brackets
Are you sure you have them right.... side for side ?

Don Welcome to FTE, the nations truckstop.

All FE engines are identical on the outside, so a 428 (the largest cid) is a direct fit replacement for the 352, 360 or 390. Your issue is not with the perches as long as they are the ones that were used prior.

Don't know if the oil pan is causing a problem, if it is different in size it very well could.

Thanks for the replies.

As for the mounts, we have placed these every which way possible. No position would work. The perches are the same as what was in there prior.

The oil pan was my next step since that has been changed.

Thanks again.
