Anyone know if there is a Left and Right Hi-beam wires I can get to (without going to right behind the lamp)? Maybe nice and easy by the ABS controller? Or are they both off one wire? Gracias!
I imagine they are together, but if you really want go that route might I suggest a headlight relay kit. If you get a kit with four relays, it will isolate highs from lows and left from right.
usually there are wires for both left/right high/low coming from the column's wire harness. i just grabbed mine from behind the lamps as I have the wig-wag flasher installed under the hood. don't really wanna hear that click clack noise in the cab.
Any more info on the product you used and some steps for the install would be appreciated. I'm a Red Cross Disaster guy....I've used mine truck for doing damage assessments locally and have always wanted to install the wig wags for disaster duty.
I can describe the process- it's getting to the back of the headlamps with enough room to make a connection is my problem!
1. Get a headlight flasher (Code 3, Whelan, Federal, etc.). It has the following connections;
A. High Beam- this is the High Beam from your truck (12v+ when you turn on your high beams), connect it to the port "Both" to turn on both at the same time.
B. Ground
C. Left High Beam- connect your left headlight High
D. Right High Beam- connect your right headlight High
E. On- 12v+ here activates the flasher. Some flashers may have multiple modes, so there might be more than one choice.
Run the "On" wire to whatever switch arrangement you use.
