does anyone know what the orange wire is for on the connector at the rear of the truck for trailer hookup. I got the blue for the tril brakes and everything else right but the guy before me had the orange hooked up to sumtin. Any idea's or wiring diags..
Orange is the 12 vdc trailer charge. The truck must be running for it to work. Also you have a relay and a fuse that must be installed. I'm at work and don't have access to my manuals. Let me know if you need the fuse and relay type and location, I can look them up when I get home this afternoon.

Yes the fuse block map is in the owner's manual. Strange thing is that some SDs come from the factory with the fuses installed and some don't. Mine did but I've talked to a few other owner's who had to put their own in.
OK dude ready..........In the engine compartment at the main fuse block (left side above fender well) you will see a smaller block between the main block and the brake master cylinder. The aft relay in this box is for you trailer charge power, Ford part number FOAB-14B192-A. The 30A maxifuse is in the main box slot #18, which is the row closest to the engine, fourth relay from the firewall.
Remember the truck must be running for the pin on the connector to be powered.
