Is it possible to bolt up the ultimate SUV - swapping an 80-86 E250 van body onto an 82 F250 4x4 frame? I searched around and think I saw that the frames are a different width? Surely it woudn't be easy...

 

Anything is possible. It sure won't bolt up. You will probably have to do A LOT of fabrication. Nothing is going to line up.

Why not convert the van frame to 4x4? There are companies that do that, and it would probably be cheaper.

 

I kinda figured it wasn't easy or it'd be more common. I've already got the truck, so if it was an easy drop on...why not? A pie in the sky idea. I reckon I'll look around at the wrecking yard for some vans and measure to see how for off everything is from the truck just for kicks.

Don't body/frame shops have books of specs and measurements? Maybe that'd give me an idea of how kooky it'd be.
