The staked plate cooler is very compact and the whole install was less than 2hrs! Probably one of the easiest jobs to do with great returns! If your just running in the flat lands you most likly will be ok ! But here in the Mtns you start to run some long steep grades and then you find out how well your cooler does!
Last fall I bought a 30ft Fiver rv and after reading about all the tranny troubles some of the folks had been having and the heat problems I picked up a 24000 lb stacked plate Teckonsha Defender trans cooler. This was mounted to the front of the AC condenser then plumbed in series with the OEM cooler. I bought a digital temp gage that goes in the test port. Took a trip this winter to FL and I never saw 170 degrees the whole trip even climbing the hills here in NC ! I think it will keep some life in the old girl for awhile!
NO chance of obstruction (other than debris) or restriction with the coolers in-line. Think about it, tees cause serious obstruction and restriction, the continuous flow rate is lost with abrupt angles and the split.
For the record: Don't 'tee' any cooler lines (tranny, oil, whathaveyou) that you intend to FLOW continuously without obstruction.
