Traded my Mustang. I made a 16 year old very happy.....mother and insurance company nervous..
The 16 year old had the bronco for only 2 months, could not afford the gas. Now 3rd owner. Original paperwork in glove box, man neat to see.
The rear window would not work, until I leaned on the tailgate The window had not been down for a while....Lubed it and it's working like a charm Now new plastic bushings and I'm set.
Removed the top today and had fun driving it
Changing the fluids out this weekend.
Now I need some good LOTTO numbers so I can buy some gas
4broncocrazy-er (2-79s, 89, 96) - a couple more and DONE
whats the deal with all the bronco's? just like em? Are you restoring them all as a collection?
over time I've owned the following:
'78-1 351m c-6- solid driver and never sould have parted with it- perfect body.
'79-2 429 c-6, and 400 4sp (current)- 429 was ballstothewalls fun...
'83-1 351w c-6 (current)- in gallery...a lot of time and effort
'89-1 351w efi, c-6 a retired county mounty rig. had 180+k and running ok when I sold it without a rebuild. Only problem I had was changing out the in-tank fuel pump.

My goal is to have at least one of each body style, original and f/s.....just so happen to run up on the 2nd 79 a few years back for a deal I couldn't pass on. One of the 79s I've had since early 80s......
I have a bad habit of looking for 4-sale signs on broncs
I'm totally with you on the bronco craze. I built the '83 for my kid but he's driving my '02 1/2 ton and I'm driving the bronco. The 79 was a 2 min decision once i saw the sign and drove it...had no plan of buying anything for some time as i now have 2 70's torino's, 2 bronco's and my '77 4x4 150 to finish. rebuilding all the engines, bodies etc. Had to rent a shop with a lift in town to have a place to store and work on them.
thanks, it's so far from being done. I ported out a set of '65 289 4v heads with bigger valves and smaller combustion chamber- upped compression to 9:1 and used stock cam, hei ignition...nice low end and seems to be getting great mileage...will check it soon I think...have 500 miles on the motor. needs tires on some decent wheels...going with 31x10.5 which is probaby my favorite bronco tire. WIll try 265 75r16 someday once i get better wheels...their 1/2" taller for the same width.
