White smoke
Why is my truck still blowing white smoke?
I have replaced both head gaskets, changed the oil and coolent.
and it still blows white smoke. Does the timing have anything to do with it?

More info it is a 1988 F150 4x4 5.8L, it started to smoke and there was some coolent in the oil pan so I replaced the head gaskets. and reset the time and when it start up it was still smoking(white smoke). so I was wondering if the timing is off will it still smoke. If not what can it be.
There are some good suggestions in this thread. Did you rebuild the engine or just replace the head gaskets? Did you do a compression check on the motor?
If you replaced the head gaskets, then you either didn't install them right and they're still leaking, you have a cracked block or heads (did it overheat?), or as someone else suggested, there is ATF getting sucked into your intake via the vacuum modulator on the tranny.
It cannot be the timing. Incorrect timing can not cause white smoke.
