Woke up to this, not real fun. They could have at least left my liscense plate. *******s. I feel like driving by every autobody shop and seeing if they have any SD's in there.
Waiting for the Sheriff now. Do I file this with homeowners or auto insurance?? Is there some place I can call to find the serial numbers of the parts so I can look out for them?? Not a really big town, so maybe I might get lucky and find out who beat with a tire iron.
On the flip side, anyone know any really cool aftermarket bumpers?? Depending on the cost to replace new, I might look into one that could take winch and some lights, just for kicks. Does look kind of mean with no bumper though.
Bad guys 1, me 0. PS-> If anyone sees anything else missing, Please let me know.
Are you (expletive) kidding me Flux?!?!? Wow.... I can't believe that happened.... I think auto insurance would cover it if you have the right provisions in your policy, don't know about homeowners... However, this is an opportunity to get a new Road Armor or Ranch Hand aftermarket bumper with winch mount.... they look mean!!

That really sucks. I'm not sure if they stamp bumpers with the VIN # and that is the only number that would possibly do you any good. This happens all too often and all over the place. someone did the exact same thing to my brother's neighbors truck. Unfortunately and I hate to say it, the chances of you finding them or your bumper are slim to none. You are being too kind with the tire iron thing. Oh, the thought's I have if I ever caught anyone doing that to my truck or any of my property for that matter. Probably best that you did'nt catch them or you'd be in more trouble then them. At least it doesnt appear that they damaged anything.
I'm sure there are a few others out there too. Or just check the www.craigslist.org listings for auto parts in the Texas cities. Lots of people just sell their take off front bumpers for give away prices.
That bumper with the trim, fog lights and brackets will run about $800 at your local dealer.
Isn't that what's wrong with this country... if you retaliated against whoever stole your bumper you'd probably go to prison and they'd get off scott-free. Their rights are protected, but what about yours and your ownership of property?!?
The Texas governor just signed a bill a few weeks ago that allows a property owner to use deadly force to protect their home, business or vehicle, yes, vehicle without fear of prosecution.
Some sorry lawyer may still try to put the screws to you, but at least you're within the law in Texas.
Makes me wanna move to TX. Heard they got some pretty nice lakes for boating down there anyway, problem is, I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan born and raised, so that might be a sticky spot.
I just got to work and realized there is no way to track it or find it and hopefully our police force uses it's time better than looking for my bumper. Nothing else taken or damaged to I am gonna consider myself lucky on that end. They left the boat alone too, thankful for that as well.
Looks like they knew exactly what they were doing there...
I think you have the right idea about checking out the body shops around the neighborhood.
I can't imagine that insurance wouldn't cover that. Should be under comprehensive coverage. Still, a week or more in the shop without the use of your rig.
Feel for you, man.
Yep lots of lakes, and the Gulf coast too. I have a boat myself, center console tunnel hull fishing boat.
Plenty of Eagles fans down this way. Tons of new people moving in all the time and none of them are from Texas. They're all happy to be here, complaining about taxes and the cost of living on the East and West coasts. Hopefully their problems don't follow them.
Oh, and to stay on topic, nobody steals bumpers here! They just pry your door handle open or steal the whole truck if it has a low mileage 7.3 or a nice King Ranch interior.
Tailgate theft is common too. That's why my new truck will not have that new built in step. I bet I'll see a bunch of them on older Super Duties that were "bought from a wrecking yard" Seems like no one locks their tailgates.
Too bad your not in Texas Now we can shoot to kill if you mess with our vehicle, house or place of work.. Muahhahaha Let someone touch my truck.. Got a nice 9mm JHP for their rear end.. I'll show em what a 4.10 rear end looks like..
