LOL

The SD theft rate is up from about Austin south to the border.. Too many folks getting snatched.. Luckily I have GPS tracking (which wont help too much prob) and a Good Alarm.. Plus.. If they trigger my shock sensors I'll surely be shooting.. They may get it running and start moving but I gaurantee they won't make it down the road..

My concealed weapons license says "For protection of life and property." Considering you have to be cornered to use the "my life was in danger and I couldn't run away like a chicken defense", I'd hate to have to go through the legal system for dropping some scumbag for steeling my bumper outside of my home. You should be able to though.
Sorry to see you got ripped off Flux. Unfortunately you're probably just going to have to take it as a loss. Sucks...

Hmmm. I'm looking for a place to retire too in about 7 years. Texas just moved up a few notches.

Oh, and to stay on topic, nobody steals bumpers here! They just pry your door handle open or steal the whole truck if it has a low mileage 7.3 or a nice King Ranch interior.

Tailgate theft is common too. That's why my new truck will not have that new built in step. I bet I'll see a bunch of them on older Super Duties that were "bought from a wrecking yard" Seems like no one locks their tailgates.
I always lock my tailgate.I don`t want it stolen or anything in the box. I have a canopy which also locks.

Oh.. That really sucks! The new Texas Castle Law states you no longer have to attempt to flee to use deadly force

Well, I park it front end to the street 15 feet away. Such is life. Pretty good streetlights though, it's not a dark area by any means. I will put up some motion sensors with the beep alert this weekend.

I should probably get an alarm that detects jolts and things for the truck.

Local dealer quoted me 975 for all the parts, maybe I can talk to the insurance adjuster and get it all comped if I install it, probably have a deductible that is gonna hurt my wallet. Looked to be only four bolts and they left the rear nut brackets on the ground.

Thinking about an aftermarket bumper, but to tell you the truth, I really love the way the truck looks stock, it's sweet with the color matched top valence and the chrome.

We shall see.

Check on E-bay, you can just probably buy your old bumper back. Sad, but true. There really is a good market for used SD bumpers, ESPECIALLY if they have the fog lights.

Ya, the chicken run, er I mean having to E&E is kind of lame. Maybe it's time to start thinking about moving South West again!?! I was thinking Arizona, but I always liked the sounds of Texas. I don't know about the illegals though. That got real old real quick...
Wouldn't it be great to show up to buy a used bumper and it turned out to be yours! HA! Too bad I'd still be looking to buy a new bumper after I bent mine over the thief's head. We're too lenient on thieves, that's why they keep doing it. There's no incentive to stop and plenty of incentives to keep steeling.

With the price of bumpers these days thats very common now, sorry for your loss but as long as there is no paint damage and they didnt yank the fog light harness all to hell you should be in a good position to get a RoadArmor, Fabfours, RanchHand, or whatever custom bumper. And keep an eye out for those theifs, nothing is sweeter than revenge :-).

I'd love to catch em. I'd let the police deal with them though, that's the best thing, although it would be fun to work em over.

Sadly, it's a loss and I have not recourse except to pay the coin on my deductable.

Not sure yet, i am pretty low on funds right now especially with boating season coming around and working on the house. Some of those bumpers would be awesome, but I am not an offroad guy, mostly a highway towing guy with some dirt roads and snow in there, might be a waste of my $$ right now.

If they pony up with a check, I may look into it. Ford parts guy can get the bumper in and parts in 2 days, but they also have some aftermarket stuff there, so maybe if everything goes right. I like the look of the bullnoses, but the stock superduty is a beautiful thing too.

Palmdale. Not a bad neighborhood really, but it makes me think about staying here for the duration. I just have a hard time thinking i am free game for whoever wants something sitting in my driveway.
