Hey yall, just woderig if yall have seen the new super 44 series yet. Saw em on the flowmaster website yesterday and am just itching for a sound clip. Here is what flowmaster says about their new product.
"Flowmaster’s NEW Super 44™ muffler with its 4” x 9.75” x 13” all black finish case offers distinct advantages over our original 40 Series™ muffler. Using the technology seen in our larger Super 40™ mufflers, the Super 44™ delivers a rich deep tone, an improved flow path radius, optimum internal flow and sound control, all created with Flowmaster’s Delta Flow® technology. It is the most aggressive, deepest sounding, highest performing four inch case street muffler we’ve ever built!"
Can't wait to see em out on the street, if anyone gets one let me know!
I talked to a sale represenative 3 months ago when they hadnt even came out with them yet, and he told me they were going to be wild insane, louder and deeper then the Super 40. He said that the Original 40 is such old technology and doesnt understand anyone who still buys them over the super 40, and super 44. But then again yesterday, I asked a represenative about them, and he said there not as loud as the the orignal 40, but are extremely deep soounding tone, which in some ways doesnt to it for me, I want a muiffler that will set alarms off and give me the loud tone that this massive sexy beast I have will show for.
Ionno, gunna try and find a sound clip of one or if I can convince my friend to get one on his 95 150 i'll record a clip and post it. Your right about the 40 series, its about time they come out with a better sounding muffler and I just hope it really is better sounding. I like deep, my truck non turbo diesel with a super 40 is REALLY REALLY LOUD and DEEP at idle it sounds like a racecar.
id like to try some super 44's on my 77f150 351m. i have original 40's now. before them, i had glasspacks, and then i put on the 40's it had so much backpressure that it blew a hole in the old piping before the muffler. it was pretty old thou...... maybe we will get more info on the 44's!!!!!
sounds good....a lot louder than the super 40 it seems like. I noticed the backpressure thing on my IDI diesel. I asked the guys on the pre powerstroke forum if running a flowmast would be ok for a high compression diesel like my 6.9 and they said it was cool so I went for it. Might look into getting their 50 series diesel muffler though. Id like the 44 but id like to see em on the streets before I get em you know!
OK, having them on a Chevelle is nice, but how about Flowmaster puts up a clip of them on a regular street vehicle. Any mufffler is going to sound god with 450-500 HP running through it.
I ordered them and they'll be here for me on Wednesday or Thursday.
I'm putting them on my 1987 F150 w/ a 351W with a dual exhaust. Replacing my Super 40's, because they've been too big since I got 'em, and with the Super 44's being in the standard 40 case, I can put them back right next to each other and dont have to stagger them like I do with the Super 40s. I am happy with the Super 40's, so we'll see what the 44's are going to sound like......
nighthawk you have to get us a sound clip when they're installed, Im looking at redoing the exhaust on my truck (351c) and I am thinking about these mufflers
also what model of alpine is your deck, i have a CDE-9852 and i love it so far
sorry for taking sooo long! the fl40's sounded pretty good for a while until the pipe coming down from the manifolds rusted and blew a chunk out of them. they just had turn downs on them but if i get some new super 44's then they will go out the back with tips. they were alot quieter than the original glasspacks that were on the truck when i got it from my uncle.
