identify this part please

I have an 86 F150, 300 I6 with the 1BBL carb. Looking at the engine, to the right of the master cylinder and power brake booster is something round made of plastic that has a cable with a loop in it going to the carb. Can anyone please tell me the name of this and what it does. Thanks....

Is it the cruise control vacuum module? I cant think of anything else....???

sounds like the cruise vacuum to me. a picture would really help. does your truck have cruise on it in the first place?
