You should replace both at the same time. Think of them as two barrels of water with a pipe connecting them at the bottom. The new battery will drian down to the older batteries level.
Ok, after the test the passenger side battery was wrong, so I change both with 2 new duralast 935/750 140 reserve. I follow your instructions. The truck is starting quickly now.
I have a 95 and have been battling the same issue. I recently had my fuel pump replaced due to it leaking anyway and hopefully causing this issue. No luck, it still does it. When warm, it has a real hard time starting. I am looking now into the IPR and it's sealing rings, I have been told this is a possible cause. I am trying to locate a rebuild kit for the IPR cause FORD is a "replace only" story...
Here ya go:
IPR O-Ring Kit (for when IPR valve replacement is not required)
(Ford) F6TZ-9C977-AN (F6TZ-9C977-AA?)
(International) 1825806C92 (1825806C91?)
96ps-
The slow stqart is more than likely teh same issue I just got thru chasing, the IPR has failing o-rings. I had it pulled and new orings put on (they were both cracked) and poof! fired right up!
