I decided to fence in an area of the backyard for my son to play in, and after looking at Home Depot's prices for 3' high fence (and how poorly it was made too) I decided to make my own fence out of exterior grade 3/4" plywood. Why? Because I had about 8-10 sheets of it in the garage taking up space, it's slightly curved and warped, and useless for anything else. One way to clean out a garage!
It's hardwood plywood so it might last a while after I paint it.
Here are the cross pieces and the stakes, enough to make two 8' fence panels per sheet of plywood:
Ripping the long braces and all the stakes takes about 10-12 minutes per sheet of plywood, and sanding everything (stakes and braces) about 45 minutes. Nailing the first two stakes takes a while to measure, get square, and after that its "whap", "whap", "whap" and it's done.
Just remember who's going to be taking care of you when you're drooling in your oatmeal....
