I have a 94 F150 shortbed 2wd it the I6 and E4od trans. over the last few months ive noticed a shuddering noise when i got my foot in it. i has a transmission tech ride with me in hopes of the tranny making that noise. when it did, he said the clutches were slipping and i needed either the tranny to be rebuilt of get a new tranny. when he told me the price for him to rebuild my tranny would be ballpark $2800, i almost wrecked. the trucks got, at this writing, 143,100 some miles on it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do. any help would be much appreciated.
I hate tech people that say you need a rebuild without even looking at the pan. What a thief.
What I would do is take it to a different shop and have them flush the fluid and replace the filter. Then see where you're at. There is a stop shudder additive that others have used with some success as well.
yeah, i hate techs too. im definetly gonna take it to another shop. this tech was the same one who sold us 2 trannies for our dodge van.
im gunna have them flush the fluid and change the filter. im also gunna have em put some of that stop shudder additive like you said.
