It might be a hard sell, but, with a recommendation from KENNEDYFORD, who has almost 600K miles and is only on his second set of injectors(IIRC) then I think that should carry a lot of weight. this may be something to try for those high mileage engines. I mean really in the big scheme of things is $50.00 that much when just on somebodys words most invested $300-600.00 for their first tuner. I mean the man has at least become a Sponsor, so he is supporting us, lets support him.
Chris, my order will be turned in in the next few weeks, as I have just completed an OC and would like to wait till I get closer to the next one.
Can you provide an MSDS sheet?
I will work on a MSDS. Thank you for the support. You will really like the product. It is not just for high milage problems. The project started with warranty work because injectors were failing at low miles. The techs of course just replace them and send a bill to the manufacturer. This was made to fix that problem.
I have 99 PSD with 144k miles. I bought truck with 132k and it seems to have a slight miss at idle. Maybe a dirty inject ? My question is how long to you leave this in the engine? I change oil every 4k miles will this clean things up in that amount of time? How often do you have to keep adding this product? I would like to give this stuff a try but so much stuff out there in a bottle to cure all your ills !! I am all for keeping Bigred running smooth!
Smokiesman,
It works within the first 500 miles. You can leave it as long as you want. It is just a combination of additives. You only need to add it when you have the problem. Will it fix your ills? It depends on whether or not it is caused by physical damage or build up inside the injectors. That is why I put the guarantee on it. From the original testing we figured out that the majority of the replaced injectors were not damaged but just needed cleaned. There is a very sticky brownish varnish inside that we think is the additive from the oil coking out. Once you clean this out it seems to work fine. Cleaning it out safely is the tricky part. If you use to aggressive of a solvent (K-1, Stoddard, acetone) it will damage the main bearings. This doesn't show up immediately but shows up after 50-100K. If we use detergents, dispersants, VI improvers, etc. we can clean them effectively and positively (as opposed to negatively) effect the rest of the engine and turbo. I know it is hard to buy into the idea of using additives. That is why I am marketing it here. I think once people use it and see what it does they will love it. Plus I can't really think of another way to market it. I don't want to be just another additive on the shelf at Pep Boys. This is too good and way too important.
From your website's description of the application in which this is to be used, it's obvious that you are referring to engines with a HEUI injection system. That would narrow it down to two engine manufacturers. Have you done testing on BOTH of these manufacturers' engines?
When we see new chemical formulations (like ULSD), we sometimes also see higher o-ring failures. The Internationals have got a LOT of o-rings, and a bunch of them are in contact with the lube oil. Would anything in your history indicate a use of this product might increase the o-ring failure rate?
Do you make any appearance at BITOG? (Bob is the oil guy).
Pop,
If anything HSS would help the o ring problem. I have tested it on both engines with the HEUI and have been successful. I don't know if the problem is as prevelant in the Chevy. It very well could be, I just haven't made it that far yet. I don't know BITOG but I would be glad to give it a try.
Well Chris, you have me sold. I am going to be purchasing the HSS when I next change my oil. I have a slight miss that I haven't been able to clean up with an Injection service, sythetic oil or biodiesel. I had never though about the oiling side of the injection process causing a problem. But I did buy this truck with 71,000 miles on it and I did find some other things that needed some attention.
Quick question. How long does this item usually take to ship? I live in Washington State.
I second pop, get your stuff over to Bob! (BITOG). Especially If you want to sell this stuff to the right people and try your best to not become one of the other guys on the shelf at autozone. If you get a good review from him, just think, you will be right up there with Sheaffers Oil products in regards to good reviews on stuff to use in our Powerstrokes. I'm half way sold and would like to see this develop so I can get some for my next oil change.
I would also like to say that I appreciate your dedication and the reason sponsors have succeded on here like Jody is the desire to stand apart from the normal way of doing things. And most of all the desire to do things the right way the first time.
