G2 Axle Code; Dana 60 or 70?
My 84 F250 has an axle code of G2 and the tag on the axle says 4:10. I have searched everywhere and can't determine exactly what it is.
I can't figure out is if it is a Dana 60 or 70 or if it is limited slip.
I looked at the hub and it is flush with the wheel. However, this is a dually which I think was part of the Centurian conversion. So I don't know if there is an adapter between the inner wheel and the axle mounting pad that is moving the wheel out board making it look like it is flush with the hub.
Lastly, the axle tag says 4:10, not 4L10 or 4 10 (the colon is actually stamped on the tag between the 4 and 10). And the letters LS are at the end of the bottom line.
What I've found by searching is a Dana 70 4:10 limited slip, but I don't have a "warm and fuzzy" that I've researched correctly.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Since this is the exact same parts catalog the Ford Dealers use, I assume you didn't search there.

Is the parts catalog available online? My local dealership isn't very helpful and I emailed my other Ford parts guys, but they haven't got back to me yet. I do try to search as much as possible before I post. Shoot last night I even crawled under the truck and cleaned off the tag and pulled the wheel cover off to try to figure out what it was.

Thanks again for the info!!

Thanks again for the info!! Your comments about the local dealer are true nationwide. Passion has gone, the want of a paycheck is the only reason most of the totally clueless help is there today. If Ford wants to reach a profitable level again, the dealers is where they should start first. The dealers and their scheiss additude is what has gotten Ford in the hole. Ppl are feed up, and are buying other vehicles. I can't say I blame them, either.
