freeze plug replacement?

I have a question about freeze plug replacement. Is it as simple as it looks? Pop the old one out the drive the new one in with a brass drift?

Pretty much. Clean the surfaces and use some sort of sealant as a little added insurance. I don't use silicone tho. I use a plumbers putty for autos, non harding. Can't remeber the name but it's black and sticky as he77. Permatex??
