Just started it...Loped like hell but idling fine now. Going to drive it around and see what codes I can pull while giving it a hard time. This laptop has to go with me, so...
greagin, Yes on the ULSD, I only fuel at major truckstops, 125 gallons +/- a time.
Alan, NO typo, deep pan and big cooler = 20 quarts. Can check voltage in the morning, are you thinking oil pressure problem or possible disruption in the valve covers during injector change? I've had them off several times.
hate to say it, but told ya so. i found out the hard way. But that is what we are here for. Share our lessons!!
Glad you got her purring.
Not sure I follow you here, maybe the Lucas thing?
Why, in almost 200,000 miles hasn't this occurred if caused by said additive.
Our shop truck gets the same (11 quarts Ro, 1 gallon Lucas), 125,000 miles, turned up good even has PMR's.
Our "work" truck has flipped the odometer, yes flipped as in turned over completely, and gets the same regiment.
I'm not sure this has anything to do with the 'additive.' Something didn't add up.
Every truck is different- My friend still uses 1 gallon of lucas in his truck at every oil change and has never had a problem. Mine just didnt like it.
AFAIK, figure out what she likes, and give it to her.. LOL (no pun intended).
Mine only romps if I start it without plugging it in below 30deg.
Could it just be an over fueling issue with a cold combustion chamber?
Your oil is not flowing freely to your injectors when it is cold.. I changed to Shell Rotella Synthethic 5w40 and have never had a romp since.. even when it is cold..
