im very new to this so please be patient. been reading a few things but cant seem to find anything that helps so far...father in law has a 94 f350 ps, was driving down the road and just shut off, next day started back up drove fine got home it shut off. replaced fuel filter, air filter, cam sensor started up was idiling fine then just shut off, now wont start at all. was wondering if anyone had any ideas or if u could tell me what i need to hook up to get the codes, even thou the check engine light did not come on. any help is appreciated. thanks
Maybe fuel bowl heater, I think fuse #22?? I can't remember. But from what you are describing, I would think maybe you got a bad CPS. Could be IPR. Check the Fuel Pressure regulator screen too.
i know im gonna sound really bad on this but im really not much of a mech. where would this fuse #22 be? under hood or with all other fuses. cps and ipr stand for what exactly? sorry for my lack of knowledge.... and thank you.
You'll never know unless you ask, and that's why we are here. Yes, the #22 fuse is under the hood with the rest of the big fuses. CPS=Cam Position Sensor IPR=Injection presure regulator (it's on the back of the high pressure oil pump) Never hesitate to ask ANY questions on here. we all had to start somewhere. I asked the same questions when I first bought my stroke. Welcome aboard.
It sounds like a CPS, when you bought the CPS did you get a motocraft, or a parts store knock off. They have been known to come bad from the parts store.
thanks rubberduck and bkcowboss, will test the cps and not sure if its a motorcraft or not father in laws truck but will ask and get back with yas to let ya know what i find out.... thanks
