351 Swap

I have a 96 F150 with a 302 EFI auto trans, Not sure if it is E40D or what, but the tranny is being rebuilt as we speak with a shift kit. A buddy of mine who is a forum member has a 90-something 351 that has been rebuilt. We are pretty sure that it will bolt right into my 96, but since it is already out and exposed, what mods can I give her to help the performance. Anything and Everything Considered. I do some moderate towing from time to time, and she is mostly a daily driver, but does see the mud some. Thanks.

None of the factory cams will give you all the potential from the motor, the pre '94 was really smothered badly. If you have one of these older motors with the flat tappet cam, swap the factory bump stick for the Comp Cams 35-255-5. If you have a roller motor use the Comp Cams 35-349-8. If you feel up to it, the stock heads can benefit from some mild porting.. mainly on the exhaust side. See here... http://diyporting.com/
