302 Exhaust question...

Guys I have my old 302 block out of the truck and was wondering what you call those brackets that hold the headers on to the exhaust from down below? When I bolted those headers onto the old block a year ago the exhaust shop had to cut some material from the brackets to bolt these headers on, should any muffler shop have these brackets? What are they called first off?

Are you talking about the collectors? 3 bolts hold them to the header and the pipe is welded into them? Any auto parts store should have them. You just need to measure to see if they are 3" or 2.5".

You measure the inside diameter and you can get them in different lenghts and usually the gaskets come with them.
