84 BII Codes
I have 84 BII ,2.8 that I bought for $200 bucks a couple of years ago. I did plugs, cap, rotor, wires, o2 sensor, fuel filter and adjusted the valves.I also cleaned the EGR valve and it looked in pretty good shape. It failed on the idle portion on the smog check. It has a slight miss at idle and and a small amount ot white smoke and moisture coming out the tailpipe. The codes came up as:
KOEO- 31,54,
KOER- 23,24,31,33,34,
It runs great on the road and the gas mileage doesn't seam that bad. I don't want to dump a bunch of $$$ into it. Body's in good shape,a few small dents and no rust. Plus it's a lot more fun to drive than my 83 ranger. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Maddog (woof,woof)

Is the 'white smoke' like steam? Heavy white smoke is an indicator of the head gasket(s) being blown (as also noted by creamy junk on your oil dipstic, as well as in the radiator...). Something a little more like steam, especially in cooler temperatures is just the hot exhaust reacting with the outside air, and you'll always get some moisture out of the tailpipe (catalytic converters convert a percentage of the carbon monoxide to water, if memory serves me correctly...).
