I'm going to work and the coil pack craps out. I replaced the coils but the check engine light is still on. How do you reset it? I can't find any info in the manual. Thanks.

I would take it to Auto Zone and ask them to clear the codes.

 

My 97 4.6 L. Light also came on a year ago. Code read cyl #3 misfire. Ford put on new plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel injector cleaner, cleaned MAF. It drove good for 1 year. Now cyl. #2 misfire drives pretty bad. Im getting sick of this truck nothing but a money pit.

 

lift the battery cable and wait 10 minutes, or better yet, go to Auto Zone and have them clear it with the hand held. Takes 2 minutes, dont erase the rest of your memory.

 

Leave the battery cables alone and don't bother going to AutoZone.

Just pull the PCM KAM fuse (on my 97, it's in the mini-fuse panel under the hood) for 10-15 minutes witht he ignition switched off.
