I have been reading these forums for about a month and now finally have a reason to post . I recently purchased a early 99 F350 PS 4x4 CC with a 6 speed manual and was very happy until now. Last night i drove her home and parked it . Ran fine no problems . This morning I plugged her in for about 2 hours since it was below 30 and went to crank her and she turned over fine but wouldnt start .
One thing i did notice is I dont get a WTS light but thought maybe since it was nice and warm under the hood the Glow plug relay didnt need to be on . I used a screwdriver to jump the glow plugs just to be sure but it still wouldnt start .
I then replaced the CPS thinking that may be the most obvious thing but that didnt work either .
I did check the fuel bowl and it has fuel in it so im not sure if its a fuel issue or not .
I hate my first post is begging for help , but I know its the best place to ask for help . Any ideas on what to check next ?
If the WTS light is not coming on the fuel bowl heater has probably shorted and blown fuse 30. It also powers the PCM. The WTS is not tied to the glow plugs it is simply a self check light that should come on everytime the key is turned.
thanks for the quick reply . One thing though , I dont have a fuse 30 under the hood . according to my manual 30 is a relay ? And if it is this fuel heater , where is the connector i need to unplug ?
The fuel bowl heater/water in fuel sensor plug is on the rear of the fuel filter housing next to the drain valve. unplug it before swapping the fuse and leave it unplugged until you can fix it.
