I went to start my truck after work and she don't want to fire. Started up at lunch and let her run for about 30min. Things I have checked are
1) Opened up drain valve and have flowing fuel.
2) Check oil level right at full mark, changed it two weeks ago
3) Cycled glow plugs several times and even did the ol screw driver post to post on the gpr trick, no go.
4) I have her plugged in now and the battery charger on, even though she seeemed to spin pretty good. And it's now 12 degrees
Do you get a glow plug light? Have there been any other symptoms. How old are the batteries and did you try and jump start it? Weak batteries may sound like the engine is turning fast enough when it's not.
At 15 degrees Farhenheit my PSD will not fire in the morning unless plugged in for at least two hours. Got to use the block heater. If no electricity available I put a can of sterno on a wood block under the oil pan. I tried a camp stove once and only once.

I'm down in Wendell, and its been 0-3 degrees here. My PSD lights every morning with out the benefit of electricity. I would bet you've got some bad glow plugs. 1 or 2 won't affect the starting but 4 or more will make it all most impossible to light in this weather. Barney
Well without the scanner you might try unplugging the ICP as a shot in the dark as a free try. Since the WTS light works then unplugging the fuel bowl heater probably won't help.
You might want to bring along a test light or multi meter and check all your fuses. I'd also verify the GPR is getting power across it, but the screwdriver trick should have solved a bad GPR issue.
Any corrosion on the battery cables or grounds that might cause a weak battery condition? Just trying to give you things to check when you go back out.
